Preface – Astrology is a science to know the unknown. Sometimes bad events lie in the womb of the future, when one faces them he has nothing to do else suffer. However, sometimes we want to mitigate bad events and sometimes it is necessary to mitigate bad effects. For this want, Astrology gives us the option of Mani [Gemstones], Mantra [Vedic Hymns] and Ausadh [Medicine].

दैवाधीनम् जगत सर्वे मन्त्राधीनम् तु देवता

[दैवा – God’s धीनम -Under/Surrendered जगत् -World  सर्वे-Everything मन्त्रा-Mantra धीनम-Below/Under तु-Is  देवता-Gods] [Literal translation by me – The whole world is under God (Under god’s grace/control) but God’s are under the control of Mantras]

This is what Lord Krishna told Draupadi “Mantra is the cheapest and most highly effective of all remedies”. But one should know the exact remedial Mantra and recite it with sincerity, faith and devotion.

One need not have doubts if these will give the desired results or not; they give, they always bestow and they give copiously.

Mantras are not magic; nor are they anything extraordinary. They are prayers and the real expression of the form of God. His grace and his concern for those who have faith in him.

During the Vastraapaharana (Disrobing) of Draupadi. She was clutching her Saadi with both hands, all the time crying for Lord Krishna’s help. The lord was leisurely playing Chess. His consort reminded him of Draupadi’s cries. The lord did not respond which made the consort indignant. But as the game of Chess was progressing the lord picked out a horse and placed it in the centre of the Chess Board murmuring “Akshayam {अक्षयम (अ – In Sanskrit is used to denote “Not to be” क्षय – Destruction//Decadency/Deprivation}. His consort, unable to understand the significance, sought of him to explain. The lord said “Look, as long as she was holding her Sari with her hands thinking she could save her honour herself, I did not bother. But when she let go of her Sari lifting her hands up calling on me to save her, I murmured “Akshayam” meaning “Let the Sari be endless”. The Lord helps those who surrender to him unconditionally. The only medium for this is Mantra.

Shastra divide Mantric remedies into Three Groups Vedic Mantra, Strotra and Tantric Mantra. These are like oral medicine, Balms-Ointments/Cream-Injection respectively.

For instance, if you are suffering from headaches, you apply some balm. If it is not enough you take a tablet, pill or capsule. Should these be found not fully effective you resort to Injection.

Similarly,  If your Daughter’s marriage is delayed you ask her or her mother to recite “KanakDhara Strotra” Or Chapter 32-37 of “Valmiki Sundar Kand” or Shloka 1-21 of “Saundarya Lahiri”. But if the marriage is delayed indefinitely or is cancelled after engagement you recite or arrange for the recitation of “Manu Suktam”,
“Shree Suktam” or in some extreme case “Paavmaan Suktam” of rigveda. But if in spite of your best efforts the girl’s marriage does not take place you ask her to recite daily 108 times “Pati Prapti Vashikaran Mantra [Tantric]” You are sure that she gets favourable proposals within 44 Days or 72 Days provided she performs it with devotion.

Mantras have three categories – Vedic, Tantric and Shabar.

Vedic Mantras – Mostly long and to be very efficacious needs correct initiation and rhythm that come only through long training and practises.

In Gayatri Mantra after the word “प्रचोदयात” add any of these Beeja Thrice.
For improvement in financial conditions “श्रीं श्रीं श्रीं” needs to be added in Gayatri Mantra in end after  “प्रचोदयात”
For Mental Prowess “ऐं ऐं ऐं” needs to be added in Gayatri Mantra in end after  “प्रचोदयात”
For Normal Prowess [to conquer enemies and hard times in life “ह्रीं ह्रीं ह्रीं” needs to be added in Gayatri Mantra in end after  “प्रचोदयात”

Tantric Mantra – Compared to Vedic Mantra They are mostly short and fast-acting. The right-hand path of Tantra Sadhna does not utilize “Panchamakara” and though less fast than the left-hand path is relatively harmless.

Here, I must caution that in choosing any particular Tantric Mantra one should verify if that Mantra is friendly to the person as per his Birth Rashi and Constellation. If it is unfriendly only harm will result to the person. If it is neutral no amount of Practise/Japa will produce any result. But such is not the case with “Rama Mantra” “Gopala Mantra” and the Mantra according to the text of “Shri Durga Saptashati” In fact the mantra of Saptashati have long been used for Japa and Samputa Paath [Adding any word/sentence before and after a mantra/hymn is known as Samputa]. The Argala portion of Saptashati contains many Mantra suited to one’s desires and any of these can be used for Japa [Chanting] as per need and according to the prescribed rites.

Shabar Mantra – This is a particular class of Mantra in itself. It is a strange conglomeration of words, not necessarily of Sanskrit and may and may not contain words of many Indian languages. and in most of the time, there are words that are perfectly meaningless.

At first sight, Shabar Mantra seems to be very quite worthless. But in practice, they are very potent indeed. Another advantage with Shabar Mantra is that they are already Siddha Mantra and for that reason, they don’t need any Purascharana and even if some of them are small for Japa. Purascharana is the preparatory Japa for a prescribed number of times, usually very high. In order to arouse the latent power of the Mantra. [This will be dealt with in another article].

Note – Each and everything is written above needs a separate exposition which will be done in the next articles in the series. This article aims at providing a method to find the relationship between the mantra and practitioner of Mantra. Mantras like Gayatri Mantra always work and suitability for them need not be seen, same is the case with Mantras given by Siddha guru or any divine being in a dream. However, other mantras given in various Tantra textbooks and given by normal people and astrologers [Until he is Siddha] needs to be checked in this way before practising. If an astrologer gives a prassidha Mantra like Gayatri, Panchakshari, Shadakshari, Vishnu Mantra it need not be checked and can be used.

Mantra Suitability

Tantra texts opine that “Mahavidyas” are Siddha vidya’s [Already accomplished] and there is no problem in taking their mantra and chanting it. But it needs initiation from a Tantric Guru.

Mahavidya’s are Kali – Tara – Shodashi – Bhuvaneshwari – Dhoomavati – Chinnamasta – Tripura Bhairavi – Baglamukhi – Matangi and Kamala.

They are further divided into two Kula’s

Kali Kula : Kali – Tara – Bhubaneswari along with Chinnamasta – Mahishmardini – Raktkaali – Tripura – Durga and Pratyangira.

Shri Kula : Shodashi/Tripura Sundari – Tripura Bhairavi – Baglamukhi – Kamala – Dhoomavati – Matangi – Bala – Swapnavati – Madhumati.

Hence 10 Mahavidya + 8 Vidya makes a total of 18 Siddhi Vidya’s whose mantra anyone can take/chant.

Except for these Mahavidyas, Tantra text identifies other deities whose mantra gives quick results if done after initiation. They are Mahabhairava – Chandeshwar – Shoolpaani – Batuka Bhairava – Narsimha – Raam – Krishna – Gopal – Maartand Bhairava – Betala – Ganapati – Ucchista Ganapati – Shamshaan Bhairavi – Unmukhi – Chandika – Lakshmi – Mahalakshmi – Vaagbhava and Saraswati.

But except 10 Mahavidya [Listed above] mantra of any other deity should be accepted only after contemplation.

6 Chakra’s/Tables needs to be considered: To know the clan of Mantra – KulaKula Chakra. To know the Zodiac Sign of Mantra – Rashi Chakra. To know Gana of mantra – Ganabodhak Chakra. To know the constellation of mantra – Nakshatra Chakra. To know Bhava [Sentiment] of mantra – Akadam/Akatha Chakra. To know Credit and Debit with the mantra – Rina Dhana Chakra.

Caution – Words are written in Hindi as they belong to the Hindi/Sanskrit alphabet. Foreigners are requested to use a good dictionary or transliteration software to read/use them. In any Chakra, counting is always from the first letter of your name [I discourage replacing one’s name to one’s moon sign for better results] to the mantra.

If the first letter of your name and of mantra falls in the same group then it is accepted.

If it falls into a friend’s group then also it can be accepted. Water is a friend of Earth and Air is a friend of Fire.

If it is in the enemy’s group then is not recommended. Air is the enemy of Earth and Fire is the enemy of both Water and Earth.

Ether is neutral and can be taken in all/for all. For example if your name is Shubham then “Sha” being in Ether group you can chant any mantra [Based on this chakra] each and every mantra comes to your clan.

Find your Nakshatra and Nakshatra of Mantra. Then count from your Nakshatra to that of Mantra. They are in Navarata Chakra where 1-10-19 from Your Nakshatra is Janma Tara, 2-11-20 is Sampat Tara, 3-12-21 is Vipat Tara, 4-13-22 is Kshema Tara, 5-14-23 is Pratyari Tara, 6-15-24 is Sadhak Tara, 7-16-25 is Vadha Tara, 8-17-26 is Mitra Tara and 9-18-27 is Parama Mitra Tara.

According to the rules of Navatara Chakra odd-numbered Tara except for Janma and Param Mitra have to be left, Thus if Mantra falls in Vipat [Danger] Pratyari [Obstacles] or Vadha [Kill] Tara it must be avoided.

Whereas Janma [Birth], Sampat [Money], Kshema [Well – being], Sadhaka [Can be accomplished], Mitra [Friendly], Param Mitra [Extreme Friendly] can be taken whose results are according to the name of their Tara.

Find Gana of the first letter of your name. If it is Human then only Human Manta is advised, If it is Deva [God] then Deva Mantra [Mantra falling in Deva will be good] Whereas Mantra falling in Manushya [Human] will be medium and Mantra falling in Rakshasa [Demon] will be enemy. For Rakshasa [Deamon] Mantra from the same clan [Rakshasa – Deamon] is advised.

Hence carefully one can see only Mantra from the same clan is advised.

Find numbers of vowels and consonants of your name. Add them, divide the total by 8 and take the remainder. Then find numbers of Vowel and consonant in Mantra and add them then divide it by 8, take the remainder. [Same as you did for your name]

If the remainder of Mantra is more than the remainder of your name then he is your debtor which means you already did the mantra in some other lives but haven’t reaped its fruits hence if you do the mantra in this life it will give you quick results.

If the remainder of Mantra is less than the remainder of your name then he is your creditor which means in a previous life a Guru gave you that mantra, You without completing his chanting used his powers [Due to guru’s benediction] hence in this life, first, you have to pay to that mantra [Complete remaining chanting of last life] only then Mantra will start giving you results.

If the remainder of Mantra is equal to the remainder of your name then it is no credit nor debit and result will depend on your number of chanting of Mantra. The more you chant better are the results.

Conclusion – This way one needs to find suitability between Mantra and Himself before chanting any Mantra. But remember any mantra which comes under exception by either being Prassidha Mantra /Famous mantra [Panchakshari] or Siddha Mantra [Shri Durga Shaptashati] or if it is given by a guru [Real Guru] then one need not check these tables and he can practise those Mantras.
