Date of birth [If more than 12 subtract 12] this needs to be seen from Sun’s placement in one’s birth chart. Because Sun makes day and night by his daily movements. This will indicate an internal driving force.
Month of Birth [See the number of sign sun is in from Aries] look for the same number of sign from moon’s position in birth chart. The dark and bright fortnight of the Moon makes Vedic/Lunar month. This will indicate driving mental power.
Year of Birth [Divide by 12, Take the remainder: example 1996 [1996/12=166*12=1992-1996=4] look for the same number of the house from Jupiter. This will indicate moral values/guiding ambitions.
Total of all of them [Keep them all together. Divide by 12, Take the remainder. Example 9th January 1996 = 911996/12 = 75999*12=911988-911996=8] Look for it from Lagna as reference point. This will indicate Synchronization between Body, Mind and Soul.

This clearly indicates his internal driving force is himself [Self-motivated person to pursue anything] He restarted The Astrological Magazine to support his family which is visible by Lagnesh being in 4th house which was shut down since long due to financial constraints which are justified by Moon being with Saturn as 6th lord. The aspect of Mercury [Astrologers] Mars [Blood Relations/enterprise] and Venus [Wife] were the people supporting him in his motivation [Lagna indicates you, it indicates what you wanted to do from your heart]
The month of Birth: 4th from Moon is 7th house with Mars, Venus and Mercury which indicates he did all this with mental support from his wife [Venus] other fellow astrologers [Mercury] and blood relations [Grandfather – Mars: This is specifically so, due to Mars being 10th lord of lineage which is represented by any elderly person of the family] Due to early marriages in those times it was his wife whose support was crucial even in tough times to make what Dr. Raman was, if she was a weak lady then it was never possible.

This can be termed classical renunciation yoga.

Faith in all religions.
Year: 1837/12=153*12=1836-1837=1 – Jupiter is in 8th house exalted lord is in strong Parvrajya yoga which indicates his guiding ambitions were exalted and without any deeds. Unselfish as he was. It also indicates that his discrimination [Jupiter Karaka] advised him to take path of occult [tantra] which doesn’t distinguish between human and divine.

Date – 18-12=6 – 6th house from Sun is 6th house whose lord Moon is in Lagna indicates that his Avatar was to guide people to end suffering and have salvation [6th house of Shadripu] He himself was free from Shadripu and made disciples who were free from Shadripu. His renunciation of women and gold is a fine example of how weakness can be avoided. His method of Sanyasa is the most practical method of salvation and ending weakness and misery.
Month: 11th from Sun is 11th house again of bondage and freedom, his mind was guided by misery one faces due to bondage to many things. 11th lord Jupiter is in 5th house of Mantra [Naam Japa and chanting] which was his guiding force. He used to talk with Devi immersed in her. Identified with her. 5th is the house of Son/Daughter and indicates things in life that can dissolve us in itself in which we are totally submerged.
Year: 1836/12=153*12=1836: 0 is the answer which leads us to 12 [Divided by 12 remainder zero gives 12] 12th from Jupiter is 4th house of Mother, She had a dream about her birth, also Mother was her Ishta, which he worshipped loved and talked with. Mother in every form was her guiding light which overshadowed his soul/intellect and discrimination. He even saw the mother in his wife.

End Notes
This technique can be developed further; I have shared only a limited part of it. Sun is our soul, moon is mind whereas Jupiter is own idea of God. These three Sattwa Planets together indicate what god destined for us, what our soul lesson was and what was perceived by our mind. And in end lagna denotes what we actually did.
There can be a question. While interpretation of these charts I have taken a spiritual outlook. Why? Due to Pravrajya yoga in Case 2 and 3 and connection between Sun, Moon and Jupiter in case 1.

Conclusion
A long series can be written on usage of Numerology in astrology. An intelligent astrologer can use it in Dasha, Transits as well as interpretation. However I will advise that all these methods [like this] are supplementary and work as an aid to prediction but not the turning point of a chart.
