Moon in Twelve Houses

1^st house – if moon be in Taurus (exalted) Cancer (Own sign) Aries (Sign completely owned by Mars making Mars+Moon yoga that gives money along with other bad aspects of the yoga) it makes one keeper of the treasury (rich having control over money/finances/resources – can show a profession like a banker, Banks security personal, security guards in monetary intuitions and like professions) Decorated (beautiful/honoured/liked by people/attractive) fulfilled with bliss (Happily deposited) in other ascendants it makes one poverty-stricken, weak-bodied, bereft of money, foolish, without ears (Some hearing defect or problems in-ear/listening can be seen rather than sticking to the hard word quoted by the main author of the text)

2^nd house – gain of grains (see effect of Sun in 2^nd house and you will get to know that both luminaries in 2^nd house or their influence on 2^nd house shows chances of personas income from agriculture that can mean when chart is of bad Yogas can mean person is unsuccessful and can resort to farming whereas in chart of raajyogas can mean people having lots of lands where grains are being produced and many people are employed also giving indications to profession like employer running a company that deals with food products, along with its other meaning that native never dies of hunger and always have basic requirements of his life fulfilled is what luminaries in 2^nd house ensure) extreme happiness from body (means body is wealth and can have belly as grains are available always, along with this also ensures good sleep and comforts in life is what we can assess from bodily happiness) enjoyment with money (can also be taken as yoga for multiple marriages or extra marital relationships) loved by his family members (2^nd house is of family and moon indications affection, attachment, emotions) by his appearance even godly women are controlled (extremely beautiful and attractive – 2^nd house indicates face and moon is extremely beautiful after all he have 27 wives) he does lowly deeds (we can say he enjoys but is fallen in moral character – read why I said it can also be taken as extra marital Yogas and think on it again until you find the link and reason that 2^nd is 8^th from 7^th house and it deals with longevity of wife and moon shows affection and attraction)

3^rd house – he gets money by his valour (can show labours who earn due to exercise of their physical prowess and in a strong chart can indicate a person who earns through his skills such as painting, dancing, cooking or in a badly disposed of chart can indicate at someone taking bribe like criminals – Moon is very fickle and his analysis should be done with extreme care) women get attracted by him but he is engaged in penance (moon aspects 9th house now giving desire for Dharma as moon have only Kama Drishti that indicates what he desires to have – 7th aspect) by his sticking to dharma glory rises (aspect on 9th house is prominently given consideration here this especially happen when the moon is strong) he is very courageous (generally benefics in 3rd house makes one timid thus this results will one become to be seen when the sun is between 1st to 5th house making moon weak in Paksha Bala and behave like a malefic which gives courage and valour in 3^rd house)

4^th house – he is always honoured in kings palace (highly prominent in government, good for politicians as people keep him in their heart or they can be highly situated and loved government people) he is not this much happiness in the first part of his life (divide total span of longevity in three parts and foretell these effects from 2nd part to 3rd part, not in first part also can mean his birth in the normal family) gets comfort from wives and children (we search for Yogas that deny marriage then there must be some Yogas that ensures marriage whose marriage is very important for an astrologer as usually when he gets a consultation for marriage he must know Yogas which ensure marriage so that he can say confidentially like our sages do that this person must get married this is one such Yogas whose knowledge with ancients gave them skill to predict confidentially.  Another such yoga guarantying marriage is Jupiter’s influence over the 7th house or lord in all cases except where Jupiter is extremely weak as Jupiter being   Jeeva karaka saves Jeeva of the house he makes connection with – type of connections is hinted in our Pisces Ascendant article, a separate article on this will be written in coming future – this is one such yoga that guarantees marriage and progeny both as Moon in 4^th house ensures native becomes mother for sure giving rise to both conditions that marriage should be done and child must be born – this yoga looks mainly for female horoscope but can also be applied in male horoscopes)

5^th house – satisfied from his progeny (the moon is karaka for satisfaction that must be noted and whatever house moon is posited in healthy condition person is satisfied from that area of his life) his intellect is free of malice, gains lands and jewellery (the moon is karaka for gemstones whereas Venus for pearl) he gets many kinds of gains from business of lending money over interest.

6^th house – even if he is at war with king he wins him (moon is a benefic and normally seen as female planet and these kind of results are surprising to some extent until we accept the fact that Moon mother goddess Durga who when at war can destroy anyone, along with this we must try to understand the name Gaja Kesari – it is a yoga formed by relationship between Moon and Jupiter where Jupiter is Gaja that literally means elephant Moon is Kesari that in one way means lion – making him lion in 6^th house matters of war and at other hand Kesari means King showing he is himself a kind in war and can win anyone as he is endowed with Moon’s quality of compassion, dedication, love and power to win heart of others that can make people melt for him and can conquer them with love or fight – however for this prediction to complete satisfy moon must be afflicted being of Dark Phase) no matters how many enemies are there he slays them all, he never gets misery of mother (his mother never dies that literally means long living mother or he dying before mother as Moon in Dusthana makes combinations for infantile morality)

7^th house – the happiness of women is ensured (see comments under 4th and 5th house about the surety of fructification of a bhava and moons signification of satisfaction) he gets riches from the business of lands/possessions/properties, loves women (makes Yogas for extra-marital relationships, illicit relationships, extra-marital flings and like other Yogas – especially in 7th house of Navamsa) interesting in eating sweets. If the moon is Dark half his body is skinny and he is defeated by enemies (7th house is called Jaya that means victory and when a weak planet is there person is unable to win be it wife (wife is not something to be won but her heart is), fight, or a business deal – all significations of 7^th house)

8^th house – doctors have assemblies in his home (see how poetically author describes that person is weak and always surrounded with diseases) medicines are always being made at his home (in earlier times medicines were made in the home this is indicated here with authors poetic statement that native is always weak and diseased) suffers from big diseases (incurable) he is feared of his enemies or suffers at his hands

9^th house – he is saluted by people and Brahmins (means he is well-read, learned and authoritative, having lordship over many men that in modern terms can mean a person to be either highly posited government official or employer) his luck rises in his young age (moon rules Natural years of 22-24) happiness in the body (lives in comfort) his courage is like Moon (Increasing for 15 days and decreasing for 15 days – notice how once again he poetically describes bad effects of Moon there – this is the methodology adopted by an astrologer – these books were written keeping the fact in mind that astrologer will memorize the Shloka and utter it in front of the native whose chart is being read and having found out that the person is highly posited he used words in such a manner that native understands what is being said but never get offended due to that)

10^th house – happiness from kinsmen’s (7^th aspect of the moon on 4th house – sun burns the house he is in or aspects whereas Moon being Jala tattwa gives prosperity and their coming together at Amavasya creates energy imbalance making major flaw in the horoscope as it hits two major Tattwa of creation) he is well versed in Dharma and obeys that whereas he is well versed in Karma (goes with the sayings of Vedas and does work with detachment from its fruits and is always engaged in one activity or another) beloved of Kings (government) loves new wife and riches (means desirous of having new women – once again extra marital yoga and shows the ambition of native as he desires for women as well as money – the ambition of Rajas Guna to enjoy life) first progeny gives less happiness (this means three things one of them is he must have more than one children, another is his first child must be lowest in Gunas amongst all of them and his children’s other than first one must give him lots of happiness)

11^th house – he gets reputation, Rights and clothes in this order (means the person is born in a reputed family, acquires right in life and become highly posited and in last part of life lives in comfort with the zeal of boyhood days) in his heart Lakshmi (Goddess of blessings) and Shri (The highest form of Devi Lakshmi) resides (Means he is endowed with all kinds of Lakshmi – see Sun in 11th house for explanation and see similarly between effects of both luminaries in 2nd and 11th house) all his works usually remains incomplete (Moon changes his shape every day and here its implication is the person gets more or less desires fulfilled every day but his desires are such high that all his works never get completed/fulfilled) gains of Daughter (aspect on 5^th house gives daughters to native)

12^th house – always worried of enemies and eyes (again see the similarity between the effect of Sun and Moon in 12th house – this implies native is troubles due to eye diseases and his enemies) he spends money inauspicious deeds, Mind is troubled due to Mother and Paternal Uncle, his love for his lady will be little, whatever he desires doesn’t get fulfilled (almost everything he desires remains unfulfilled until good Dasha’s come to operate)
