I wrote an article on Chandra Chakra (Moon Chart) in past. Actually, this will be a series of articles on Moon, To prove that Moon is equally potent a point for a prediction that must never be ignored. Ancient astrologers always used to make Moon horoscopes along with birth horoscopes,s, especially in North India. But without example talking about theory only is futile as we don’t understand how it is applied. Hence before we proceed on our next article in Chandra let’s see a case study, Which will work as an example.
She was born on 21st June 1958. Time is unknown Place is Mumbai. Mon can be in Cancer or Leo. Based on a life event (that we will see in a while, I have put her Moon in Leo) A special dasa is used in this article which starts from Moon’s Navamsa Rashi and proceeds following Vikriti Chakra. Dasa years are found by counting Dasa lord to Moon for male sign whereas for female signs dasa years should be counted from Moon to dasa lord. We will call this dasa Chandra Navamsa Dasa (CND)
Let’s see her chart first. (Make Navamsa Lagna with Moon in lagna – Taurus and Janma Lagna as Moon in Lagna – Leo)

Profession – Actress: For profession, one must see 10th from Moon (primarily) but if there is any planet with Moon Ignore the planet in 10th from Moon as mind’s focus will dominate (See Amala yoga in Chakra Chakra example) One can see the planet’s Navamsa for more detail.
Venus in 10th from Moon in Rashi chakra decides her profession as an actress (Mercury can also show the same) but Moon made sure that she played the role of Mother mostly (in other cases it can be always motherly, good image role) The same Venus in Navamsa is in Capricorn indicating excellence of her career (she was active till her last breath, but being Saturnine sign she was in supporting roles) Venus can show many other profession’s as well but his conjunction with Mercury in navamsa makes sure that it has to be acting, theatre.
One must always keep in mind that the Rashi chart will give an outer outlook whereas details will be shown by Navamsa or other divisional charts. Why I haven’t taken Dasamsa because it deals with महतफलं that means big results, great fruits but can never translate as a profession. In my humble opinion, Dasamsa must be seen to judge Raajyoga whereas Navamsa is best for the profession.
Debuted in 1979: In Vimshottari it was Venus dasa (10th from the moon) in either Mercury or Saturn antardasa. Mercury seems better a candidate due to him being conjunct with Venus in Navamsa (see profession section) he is in 11th from Moon which makes Chandra Upachaya that gives growth to Moon which signifies money wealth comfort family love emotions etc and also denotes what we love. For a person in a profession like acting, it is one’s choice as a profession hence planets in Upachaya to the moon are better candidates to show the event.

For Cancer dasa, as it is a female sign count from Moon to its dispositor, If Moon is in cancer give 12 years.
Her first movie was released in Cancer dasa, whose lord is exalted with Ketu (any exalted planet with Ketu will get thrice exaltation) Lord is exalted in 11th from Dasa sign indicating the fulfilment of desire. Dasa Rashi is aspected by its exalted lord (Moon) and exalted Rahu (Some Jaimini commentators opine Rahu’s exaltation to be in Scorpio and Ketu’s in Aquarius) Rahu is karaka for Illusion (Camera) the movie revolves around a politician (power exalted planets, Politics – Rahu)
Using Arudha Traya method given in “Gautama Samhita” A10-1 Comes in 2nd house from Dasa Rashi (I am taking 10th house from Dasa Rashi) A10-1 comes in 10th house and A10-3 comes in 3rd house with Jupiter (lord of 6th and 9th and dispositor of 10th lord) all set to launch her career. A10-2 in 10th house-made sure profession kept on going, but A10-1 and A10-3 not in Kendra or Kona gave her mostly supporting roles.
Awarded in 2002: Vimshottari Dasa Mars-Saturn – Mars is yoga karaka from Moon lagna aspecting 11th house of honour. He is also under 3rd relationship (mutual aspect with 5th lord of recognition/awards/discovering one’s abilities – Jupiter) This makes a fantastic relationship between 5th 4th and 9th house from Moon.
In Chandra Navamsa dasa it was Scorpio dasa – It was 7th dasa from Moon (Dasa starting) with Rahu in it (exalted) whereas bhoga sign contains exalted Moon with Ketu (thrice exalted) [see it for her career starting dasa where bhoga contains Jupiter whose power gave her long-lasting career till her last breath] Success of anything depends 10th from that. Here 10th from Scorpio is Leo whose A10-1 falls in 6th house, A10-2 falls in 10th house and A10-3 falls in 7th house. This time with twice Kendra this dasa gave her award/recognition (good result) one can see 5th from the dasa sign is aspected by the 5th lord.
Awarded in 2011: It was Rahu mahadasha (antardasa I am not talking here but it must be Jupiter being in 2nd from Moon (Profession/mundane success) making Sunpha yoga. Rahu is in 3rd from the moon in Chandra Upachaya (see my comment on Chandra Upachaya above) she referred to as “one of the best roles in her career”, received praise. Recognizing her contribution to Marathi cinema. All this comes from Moon. Rahu is giving growth/expansion to Moon.
In Chandra Navamsa dasa it was Sagittarius dasa – Dasa of 8th house but with Sun and Mars aspected by own lord Jupiter. 10th from Dasa Rashi contains Jupiter [One must note Sun in awards/honour, Moon is recognition/fulfilment of desire, Whereas Jupiter is expansion/excellence/brilliance] A10-1 comes in 6th house, A10-2 comes in 10th house, A10-3 comes in 5th house. Note here lord of bhoga Rashi is exalted with (Ketu)
Her mother was an actress: In Dwadasamsa we see Moon in Virgo. 4th lord there-from is Jupiter in 12th house Leo (Make this as lagna) now see 10th house to find Venus in own sign to show her mother’s career as an actress.
She was employed with the Union Bank of India for ten years in Mumbai, when, alongside appearances in television and films, she participated in the inter-bank cultural events: In navamsa, Venus is with Mercury who is karaka for banking. One must always remember that Sarawali focuses much on the moon for a profession.
She took the name Reema Lagoo after her marriage to Marathi actor Vivek Lagoo. The couple separated a few years later: Name is identity. Mercury is child also Karaka for the Name change. Hence Lagna’s or Lagnesha’s connection with Mercury show name change. Her Moon Lagnesh (Sun) is with Mercury.
7th from Moon is gulika (except upachaya in all houses he is bad) 7th house is only under the malefic influence of Rahu. One’s family is 12th from Moon and we can notice here 12th lord in lagna (peculiar with every Leo moon person) it makes classical yoga for leaving home and wandering. (lack of happiness from family) lord of 12th from Moon (moon itself) is under 10th aspect of Saturn. Which is sure to give sorrow in the houses/house lord’s the aspect. Thus sorrow in homelife/personal life (Anapha from Moon) Where no planet aspect’s a house prospect of that house must be seen from 5th kind of relationship (Given in Phaladeepika) that says planets in Kendra and Kona also makes a relationship. One must note trine from the 12th house is Saturn and Mars and Kendra from the 12th house is nodes. None of them in the dignity which broke her personal life only after a few years. One also should look at 7th from Venus having Saturn (Sorrow) in Rashi and 7th from Venus in Navamsa is empty which lord Moon is with Ketu (which can be good for everything but never for personal life’s bliss, especially marriage) Make Leo Navamsa lagna to see 7th lord in 8th house retrograde in dusthana aspected by Malefic Mars and Rahu (Separation)
Blessings are seen in trine. 7th lord from Moon is Saturn, In navamsa, he is in Pisces. Trine from Pisces is only Rahu. (Navamsa is marriage as well as blessings and fruits in life) However, this is only a secondary method. When the accurate birth time is present one must use Saptamsa for progeny.
She was admitted on 18 May 2017 after she complained of chest pain. She died at 3:15 AM from cardiac arrest: Vimshottari Dasa Rahu-Ketu-Moon. Rahu is in the 3rd house of longevity (8th from 8th) from Moon also he is chiddra Graha (being enemy of 8th lord Jupiter) He is lord of 7th house (only use dual Lordship in Ayus calculations) also being dispositor of Gulika. Ketu is dispositor of Maraka Saturn (Saturn being retrograde also aspect from the previous house) that makes mutual aspect relationship with Saturn. Saturn again disposits Gulika (Along with Rahu) Moon is 12th lord (12th house denotes death, especially via hospitals or Salvation/Mahasamadhi. One must notice here that predicting death is a challenging task and when one doesn’t have lagna (Accurate) one should not venture into this area. Make Leo lagna of Pravritti-Traya Trisamsa to find nodes in 2-8 axis and Moon in 12th house. (Trisamsa is seen for misfortune and evil and can also be seen for health troubles and death. In whichever division chart nodes are together, Put Ketu in 7th to Rahu)
In Chandra Navamsa Dasa it was Sagittarius Dasa which is the 8th house from Moon. When malefics are in Paka Dasha Rashi one will have health troubles. It contains two malefic Sun and Mars aspected by Saturn along with Jupiter who is lord. In front of three malefic planets (Su, Ma, Sa) aspect of Ju and house lord (same planet in two roles) wasn’t able to save but made it last till the end (dasa was ending in 2018)
When we make three divisions of dasa we will find the last part to give the effect of Rashi itself which is occupied by two dire malefics. At the time of her death, Sagittarius was under the transit of Saturn (retrograde) malefic planet’s damaging Paka Rashi when transits Paka Rashi gives death or serious health trouble.
This is how one must analyse Moon’s chart (there are different methods) this is one between them (which I know) keep two things in mind always. If you’re analysing chart from Moon only (due to any reason)
- Make sign occupied by Moon in Rashi, Lagna in every divisional chart
- Use Karaka and Karaka Bhava (Houses from Karaka) extensively.
